The Riihivuori Ski Centre
The Riihivuori Ski Centre is a good place to start a day of winter activities in Muurame. At the Riihivuori Ski Centre, you can find equipment for skiers of different ages, and there is also a ski school for beginners. In between skiing, you can enjoy refreshments or satisfy even a bigger appetite at Restaurant Riihikelo.

Muuramejoki nature trail
After dining, you can go for a walk in the stunning Muuramenjoki scenery (in Finnish). The route is partially accessible even during winter, when the most observant might notice the White-throated dipper diving in the river rapids and dancing on the edge of the ice.

Muurame Church
Those interested in Alvar Aalto can visit the Muurame Church designed by Aalto all year round.
Opening hours: During the summer the church usually functions as a road church. In winter, the interior of the church can be explored when separately agreed upon.

Kivitasku
In the evening, you can head to Kivitasku, which is one of the most unique accommodations in Central Finland. The magnificent Haikusauna is regularly heated. Kivitasku is also a home to chickens, sheep, cats, and a dog. The hostess of Kivitasku, Mella Nousiainen, has her wonderful felting works displayed on the walls of Kivitasku, and her handmade items, such as felt paintings, table runners, sauna hats, and felt gnomes, can be purchased as souvenirs from the gift shop.
